State Department spokesperson Heather Nauert today, after Rex Tillerson to the press earlier had not answered whether he had called Trump a moron in a Pentagon meeting, said that the Secretary of State did not call Trump a moron, after first saying Tillerson doesn’t use that kind of language then forced to answer the question directly. If Trump wants Tillerson to stay, they can go with Nauert’s statement, in hopes that the folks at the Pentagon meeting won’t refute it on the record.
