Now a nightmare for municipal security, hotels don’t inspect the luggage of patrons checking-in, so the Las Vegas shooter was home-free once he got to his hotel room high up, his diabolical vantage point for the murderous onslaught. Checking the bags of incoming patrons at all hotels, in retrospect of course, seems like a good idea, considering too that other than rifles could be taken into hotels.
