Most folks don’t realize the Aramaeans of Shem’s son Aram ranged from where today is called Syria all the way to Uzbekistan, the land of Uz who was a son of Aram, and Golestan (Hul), Gathar (Gather), and Mashabad (Mash) in between. The Aramaens brought the hebrew (“phoenician”) alphabet during the time of the hebrew Judges as far as Uzbekistan during the time of the Assyrian empire beginning circa 1100 b. c. where it was applied to the Aramaean languages of Sogdiana and Kwarezm.
