None of the weather services predicted that the strength of hurricane Irma would be greatly diminished by its eye’s path for hundreds of miles along the mountains of Cuba, east to west, which knocked the hurricane down to cat 3 from cat 5, that was the real weakening of the hurricane, for if it had proceeded as predicted, it would certainly have come ashore with much greater punch.
