Having prided themselves on being very ancient and the center of the world, in some (erroneous) egyptian reckonings, Egypt back tens of thousands of years, it was totally against their character for the egyptian priests at Sais for the Atlantis story to have told the greek Solon that Egypt went back 8,000 “years” while Greece 9,000, so it was a con job by the Egyptians to get the Greeks to buy into such antiquity for their civilizations, even saying the Greeks’ was older to entice them to the story. Of course Egypt and Greece began at the same time, in the aftermath of the Tower of Babel, and the 9,000 “years” back to the demise of Atlantis (and much of Greece) really lunar cycles, because the greek word hora means time segment, and the word year is of that etymology, so Plato’s having given the names of greek kings Erysichthon, Erechtheus, Cecrops, Theseus, and Erichthonios who lived in the timeframe seals the deal, the Ice Age ended circa 1500 b. c.
