Oil industry powerhouse Houston is built on flat lying land of the coastal plain, bayous strung though it which empty into the Houston ship channel, on to Galveston Bay, so with the unprecedented rainfall from Hurricane Harvey, the floodwater is just sitting there, already forcing many residents to retreat to the second floors of their abodes, particularly in southeast Houston and down to the coast at Galveston, with no relief in sight, so pray for the people of southeast Texas, a very tough time.
