If you are a nationalist who happens to be white then you must be a white supremacist, this implied by the establishment talking-heads, so do you see the trick they are trying to play, creating the illusion that nationalism must be racist? Racism is not an alternative for regenerate people, so unless Tea Party folks (who elected Trump) are essentially all racists, degenerate, the label Alt Right does not apply to the vast majority of the millions supporting president Trump, so perhaps just the term Alts should be used for the racists on both side of the political spectrum.
