It’s not as if powerful political people were beating down Trump’s door to be his campaign manager, so the candidate took whom he could get, a guy who had worked with the Ukrainian government (not itself a crime) and had considerable dealings with Russians, the aging Paul Manafort, who has been around forever and was willing to join the Trump train.
