While the Democrats ostensibly delight that president Trump and the Republicans in Congress are making little progress on healthcare reform (because of a few recalcitrant Republicans), in the back-of-the Democrats’ minds is the fact that ten Democrat senators are up for reelection in 2018 in states won by Trump in the 2016 presidential, so short of senators such as Debbie Stabenow (running against Kid Rock) not cooperating with president Trump on healthcare, they will face a whirlwind of opposition in 2018 when the Democrats could lose those ten senate seats giving the Republicans a supermajority in the Senate (if McCain, Murkowski, and Collins can actually be considered Republicans).
