Hades was named for Gades (Cadiz), twin brother of Atlas, they were grandsons of Canaan who sailed away to live where the sun sets to the west of the Greeks, the realm of Hades in the Greeks’ underworld of the afterlife, with the Elysian Fields or Elysium, for the noble greek heroes, that realm named for Elisha (Hellen in greek mythology), a grandson of Japheth and patriarch of the Hellenes who apparently sailed west to Atlantis as well, during the Ice Age which followed Noah’s Flood.
