When Hollywood screenwriters would link biblical Ham’s son Canaan to the coming of Atlantis, don’t you suppose they would have a real blockbuster on their hands? The ostensibly mysterious Sidonians who preceded the Phoenicians of the Levant were both progeny of Canaan’s son Sidon, also known as Posidon, and later when the Ice Age was ending (from 1500 b. c. to 1400 b. c.), those Sidonians became known as Phoenicians for Phoenix who helped bring the alphabet (phonics) to the outside world. Atlas was a son of Posidon (Sidon) who with his twin brother Gades settled and built in the region of Cadiz, the city of Atlas and Posidon submerged probably about thirty miles south of Cadiz.
