Galicia of Spain was an outpost of the Gaels who according to Irish histories were progeny of Magog, a son of Japheth and grandson of Noah, so that many Slavic words and meanings are essentially the same as their Gaelic counterparts jibes with people of where the Greeks called Magogia (the region north of the Black Sea) having migrated westward then taken to sea across the Mediterranean and beyond (to Ireland) when the Ice Age had recently ended.
