Some of the israelite tribe of Dan were great navigators, having occupied the land bordering Phoenicia (named for Agenor’s son Phoenix of phonics fame) when Israel had conquered many of the Canaanites while the Ice Age was ending, some of the tribe of Dan who with the navigating Phoenicians ventured by sea to the north and west to name the Dneister, Danube, and Don rivers of the newly infilled Black Sea, they were the Danaoi to the Greeks, the Tuatha de Danaan in Ireland, and namesake of Denmark.
