Normally a South American country stuck in a socialistic quagmire would not be of great strategic concern to the U. S., but the dictator Maduro of Venezuela is granting visas and bank accounts to jihadis from the Middle East, posing a threat to the people of Venezuela, the U. S., and the world, so president Trump’s meeting with Colombia’s president Santos the day before flying to the Middle East certainly indicates that Trump and Santos are allied against the fascists running Venezuela into the ground.
