He also wrote that Atlantis extended from the Pillars of Hercules (Gibraltar) east to the Tyrhennian sea (Italy) and to the western edge of coastal Egypt, as well outside from Gibraltar, how far he did not say, so obviously he was referring to the coastlines of the western Mediterranean and eastern Atlantic, their extents greater than mediterranean coastline of Asia (Turkey and Levant) combined with the mediterranean coastline of Egypt.
