One Hundred Years Before Plato Recorded the Atlantis Story Herodotus Wrote That Atlantes in Region of Atlas Mountains

By the time Plato recorded the Atlantis story (told to him by Timaeus and Critias), he and many other Greeks were surely aware that Herodotus had already written (a hundred years previously) that the Atlantes lived in the region of the Atlas Mountains of far northwestern Africa, lending credence to the notion that greater Atlantis was a coastal empire during the Ice Age which extended (as Plato wrote) from the Pillars of Hercules (Gibraltar) eastward “as far as Libya and the Tyrrhenian Sea,” outside Gibraltar too (but how far outside he did not say); checkout Page titled Mystery Atlantis Unmasked.
