When Fauci predicted to a group of his peers in early January of 2017 that president Trump would undoubtedly face a surprise pandemic during his administration (during his first term because Fauci couldn’t and wouldn’t have predicted Trump would win reelection), he (Fauci) must have been talking about the wuhan virus, its gain-of-function engineering known to Fauci, and then Fauci did act surprised by the pandemic, having advised president Trump to not ban travel to-and-from communist China, and having not realized that China having stopped flights in and out of Wuhan, but not to-and-from Wuhan internationally, was a sure sign of the “surprise” to come.
