After having seen president Trump in action for a year back in 2017, 40 RINO’s decided to not face defeat in the Republican congressional primaries in 2018 so they retired, which certainly helped the Democrats gain seats because incumbents are much more likely to win than challengers, and the Republicans gained 15 seats in the House of Representatives in 2020, so Trump has and certainly will continue greatly affecting the landscape of Congress.
