The U. S. Constitution stipulates that the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court shall preside over any impeachment trial of a sitting president in the U. S. Senate, so the fact that Chief Justice John Roberts refuses to preside not only renders it unconstitutional, it also shows Roberts would vote not guilty.
