So Far This Winter 20,000 Deaths by Influenza Virus in U. S. Where Deaths by Corona Now at 17 so Misplaced Fear?

A relatively small death toll in the U. S. by the influenza flu virus (20,000 people so far this year) did not paralyze much of the transportation industry nor preclude many people from going to public events, yet now the corona flu death toll of only 17 people in the U. S. has caused economic panic, so might there have been a little hyping of corona, perhaps to harm president Trump’s reelection chances?
