New York Joins California & Oregon in Banning Most Plastic Bags a Five Cent Tax on Paper Ones or Use Your Own

Most plastic bags in the state of New York are now banned ($500 fine), joining California and Oregon in fighting against that hard to degrade material, so for instance at grocery stores, people can use their own bag or pay five cents for a paper one from the store to use, that choice which surely will be easy for those concerned about thousands of tons of plastic waste very bad for the environment. About thirty years ago, plastic bags came into vogue because of the spotted owl which supposedly would roost in only trees hundreds of years old, so apparently the spotted owl is doing fine these days!
