Trump Will Stay in the Driver’s Seat Unless the Senate Can Muster Votes to Override His Veto of Their Nothing Bill

On Thursday there will be two votes in the Senate about the government shutdown, one bill to just open the government, the other Trump’s bill, so will the senators back the president’s proposal or will they pass the end-the-shutdown-only bill in the hopes that after the House would pass it, they would send it to president Trump who has promised to veto it, the recalcitrant Republicans and Democrats confident that they can override his veto by a two-thirds majority in the Senate?
