Etymologically, the word water seems to have come from atl, of Atlas who was a son of Sidon (Posidon the sea god) and namesake of the Atlantean empire and the Atlantic ocean, across which the Aztecs used Atl as the sign for water in their twenty-sign zodiac wheel.
