On the upper Euphrates river, about a hundred miles due east from the northeastern corner of the Mediterranean, is the ancient city of Sanliurfa which means great Urfa, who was Arpachshad, one of the grandsons of Noah and a grandfather of great Heber for whom were named the Hebrews.
