Wouldn’t the domination of national elections by the leftist voters packed in the cities (because the Electoral College would be abolished) allow the people in the cities to tell the rural people what’s best for them? The leftists would institute more onerous regulations on farmers, ranchers, lumbermen, and miners, thus all but destroying such production, to create dependency on supplies from foreign lands, so lowering the standard of living in the U. S. for all her citizens and endangering national defense.
