Thanks to president Trump, the “catch-and-release” charade being perpetrated on the border for illegal immigrants is now front-and-center in the public psyche, the absurdity of border security personnel processing then releasing into the U. S. those illegal immigrants becoming known to most voters now who abhor it and will respond appropriately in the 2018 midterms. If the Congress now in session and the one following won’t get moving to solve this problem, the primary elections for congressional seats in 2020 could be a sad time for the establishment Republicans dragging their feet (with the Democrats) on the border security desired by the vast majority of the U. S. electorate.
