Trump Probably Has Calculated That the Best Chance for Republicans to Increase Majorities is Tough Stance on DACA

Translate:

If president Trump goes soft on leveraging DACA, he’ll lose much of his base of support, and with it enthusiasm will be much diminished for the Republican candidates in the upcoming midterm elections, so the president has probably realized this, unless he figures his Tea Party base would forgive him for that, breaking the cornerstone of his campaign pledges. The DACA people could remain legal residents, not U. S. citizens, then later if immigration rates (legal and illegal) decline to proper levels, president Trump, maybe sooner, maybe later, could address the citizenship issue.
