People forget that longtime Tea Party hero senator Ted Cruz almost beat candidate Trump in the 2016 presidential primaries, those two candidates who controlled about 70% of the primary electorate, and now with president Trump gaining support among blacks and latinos, bet that he’ll have no Republican challengers in 2020 and probably few Democrats wanting to contest him, considering that presidents running for their second term almost never lose, and who wants to face Trump’s rhetorical bombast?
