The establishment media, as we all know, because of the money Trump was making for them during the primary season, favored him over Ted Cruz, so candidate Trump made the calculation that Manafort’s known income stream from the Russians would not be a focus of attention, long enough for Trump to secure the nomination then Manafort was gone.
