The congressional Democrats in swing districts and purple-tie Republicans up for reelection in 2018, if they don’t cooperate with Trump in 2017, may well end up cooperating with him in 2018 even though it will be an election year when typically little is accomplished legislatively, because not cooperating with Trump then could cost many of them their seats in Congress.
