Recently Robert Kuttner of The American Prospect interviewed Steve Bannon who told Kuttner that he hopes the Democrats continue obsessing about race so that Trump’s successful economic nationalism will win a second term for him and the nation. Bannon calls white supremacists ethno-nationalists, not patriotic nationalists, saying the Nazis and the like are clowns, fringe elements to be scorned.
