Along the west-side of the lower portion of the Red Sea is the land first settled by Ityopis, a son of Kush, Ethiopia named for him, and his city was built just to the north of where later would become known as Aksum (after the time of Jesus), the city called Mazaber, the tomb of Ityopis in the area near the hamlet of Addi Kilte. The world ocean was about three hundred feet lower when Ityopis built there, so offshore in the Red Sea could be submerged ruins, perhaps near Bab el Mandeb, the strait between the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden (Indian Ocean).
